Rooted
A ten-week discipleship curriculum for all ages and stages of Christian development. You will learn the rhythms of a disciple and help others to learn them, too! It is offered two to three times yearly at East Lake and is the best way to get into a Life Group here. You must have attended Rooted to lead it, and we ask that all Partners complete It. Gracism
helps us learn to love people well by teaching the “Eight Sayings of a Gracist”. Gracism is offered every other year for adults and students. We ask that your group participate in Gracsim as soon as it is offered after becoming a life group. Gracism is critical to understand the DNA of East Lake Church! Watch the East Lake Events Page to sign up or talk to your Discipleship Coach about experiencing Gracism in your group.

empowers us to love people without hurting them or ourselves. The best way to love people is to empower them to use the gifts God has given them to make positive change in their lives. We want to come alongside people in need, taking steps with them as they move forward. In “When Helping Hurts” we begin to understand that we all have poverty and gifts to share. When Helping Hurts will give you new tools and perspectives to serve the marginalized effectively.

Sometimes you may find yourself in a cycle where you've completed Rooted, but Gracism and When Helping Hurts aren't being offered. Below you will find group studies that are recommended to follow Rooted when other core curriculum options aren't available. Talk to your coach for assistance and to order these materials.

Ever wonder – What is the Bible really about? Is God still actively at work? Is my purpose and life meant as part of something much bigger? This seven-lesson study covers the basics of God's word, world, and work — and provides small-group discussions mixed with true stories and examples for living out Christian lifestyle habits today.
