Moving Forward - Summer/Fall 2010

Kevin Pike, Lead Pastor of East Lake Community Church since 2002, has been called to a new position at Mariners Church in Irvine, California. His last Sunday at East Lake was August 29, 2010. The Oversight Team has commissioned a team to conduct a nationwide search for a person with the qualifications necessary for carrying out the vision of our church. Our church is praying for wisdom to recognize the best person for the job.

At East Lake, our whole purpose is to introduce people to Jesus and help them become like him—and that is much more than just listening to one particular teacher. Worshipping, connecting with others, seeing our children “get it,” and finding ways to serve our church family and community are also part of our vision to help people become like Jesus. These things that make up East Lake will continue regardless of who is doing the teaching. And we will make sure that whoever is teaching does a great job of representing our vision and style of ministry.
